2024 Retrospective: A Year of Milestones, Achievements, and Fellowship

As 2024 draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the incredible year we’ve had at the Company of Entrepreneurs. From historic celebrations to impactful initiatives, this year has been filled with accomplishments, growth, and memorable moments. Here’s a look back at the highlights:

Key Events and Celebrations

The Lord Mayor’s Show 2024

We proudly supported this iconic procession with a video production that showcased the Company’s values and mission. Seeing our work take centre stage during such a historic event was a true highlight of the year.

The Installation Dinner 2024

Marking ten years since the Guild’s foundation, this event was a celebration of growth and fellowship. Welcoming James Talbot as the 11th Master Entrepreneur and unveiling the new silver Patrons’ goblets made for an unforgettable evening.

The Master’s Weekend Black-Tie Dinner Aboard HMS Belfast

This intimate and elegant event celebrated history and connection aboard an iconic London landmark. It was a fitting tribute to a decade of the Company’s achievements.

The September Court Dinner 2024

A formal yet cheerful evening filled with fellowship, this event brought together talented musicians from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama for a night of reflection and optimism.

The Sheriffs’ Ball 2024

With dancing, dining, and camaraderie, this glittering black-tie event embodied the joy and spirit of entrepreneurship while supporting The Lord Mayor’s Appeal.

Christmas Lunch for Freemen

As the year drew to a close, I had the pleasure of organising a festive lunch for Freemen. It was a relaxed and joyful occasion to celebrate the season and our collective achievements.

Committee Achievements

Communications Committee

This year saw tremendous progress in our communications efforts:

  • Built a new process to make this year’s magazine better than ever.
  • Developed a social media strategy, supporting all event communications and increasing reach by over 300% on LinkedIn.
  • Supported Rita Bologna in collating engaging articles for the website and social media platforms.
  • Designed tools to maximise reach and efficiency, speeding up processes for future campaigns.

Education Committee

A transformative year for our educational efforts:

  • Defined a new approach to educational offerings, “productising” services to support schools more effectively.
  • Built a workflow for product delivery, enabling Ben Martin to seamlessly manage each project.
  • Shared a CRM process to improve reach, delivery, and Freemen support, now integrated into the Company’s internal systems.

Leading the Way for 2025

This year, I took on a leading role in shaping the Entrepreneurs Award for Social Innovation (EASI) 2025:

  • Created an exceptional Tone of Voice and audience persona document for EASI.
  • Built comprehensive processes in ClickUp to support event planning and communication needs.
  • Developed a social media and communication plan to engage all audiences and amplify the impact of EASI.

A Year of Fellowship and Progress

2024 has been a year of growth, collaboration, and celebration. From honouring historic milestones to building processes for the future, the Company of Entrepreneurs continues to thrive as a dynamic and impactful community.

Here’s to carrying this momentum into 2025, with even more success, fellowship, and innovation to come!
