I’m excited to share the details of an insightful event that I had the pleasure of participating in recently. On Monday, 1 July 2024, I had the honour of speaking at a panel hosted by the Company of Entrepreneurs for MBA students from the Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University, New York. The event was held at the historic Guildhall in London, a venue that perfectly blended the past and the future of business.
The group comprised 20 students and 3 staff members, all led by Professor Florence. These MBA students are part of an innovative online working professional program, balancing their studies with active roles in their respective industries. Their residency program, running from June 28th to 30th, was structured like a business conference focused on the theme “Doing Business in Post-Brexit London”. Following this, the elective program, which included our panel, centred on “London’s Place in the Economy”.
During the panel, I shared insights on the current business landscape in London and the UK, touching upon the opportunities and challenges post-Brexit. We discussed my perspectives on starting, building and running a business. The discussion was lively and engaging, with students showing a keen interest in understanding the practical aspects of conducting business in such a dynamic environment. It was a wonderful experience to interact with such a diverse and enthusiastic group, all eager to apply their learnings to real-world scenarios.
As always, the event was a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas and foster new connections. I’m looking forward to more such interactions that bridge the gap between academic insights and practical business applications.
