A Magical Evening Aboard HMS Belfast – The Master’s Weekend 2024

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, the historic and iconic HMS Belfast played host to an extraordinary black-tie dinner as part of The Master’s Weekend 2024. It was a truly intimate and hugely enjoyable evening, marked by an unparalleled sense of occasion, elegance, and history.

An Iconic Setting Steeped in History

The evening began with a warm welcome reception on the deck of HMS Belfast, moored on The Queen’s Walk with stunning views of London. There was something magical about dining aboard this historic warship, which has stood as a symbol of courage and service since World War II.

Adding to the significance, HMS Belfast holds a special place in the hearts of our Master Entrepreneur, Mark Huxley, and his consort, Jo, as it was the venue for their wedding 15 years ago. Being invited to such a meaningful location was an honour for all present, making the evening even more memorable.

An Evening of Fellowship and Fine Dining

The black-tie dinner itself was a feast for the senses. A gourmet menu, paired with exquisite wines, was served in the ship’s distinguished surroundings, creating a refined yet welcoming atmosphere. As conversations flowed, the spirit of fellowship among Freemen and guests shone through, uniting us all in celebration.

Inspiring Words from the Keynote Speaker

A highlight of the evening was the keynote address, delivered with passion and insight. The speaker’s words resonated deeply, adding inspiration to what was already an unforgettable night.

A Night to Treasure

For me, this was an evening like no other. The combination of the intimate setting, steeped in history, and the company of fellow Freemen made it a standout experience. There was a profound sense of privilege in being part of such a cherished moment aboard HMS Belfast.

Looking Forward to Future Events

If you haven’t yet attended a Master’s Weekend event, I wholeheartedly encourage you to join next year. These gatherings are more than just celebrations—they’re opportunities to connect, reflect, and create lasting memories.
