What an evening it was! Last night marked a significant milestone in my professional journey, I, alongside my new Freemen friends, Maurice and Wayne, were proudly admitted as Freemen of the Company of Entrepreneurs. The grandeur of Bakers’ Hall was our stage, and the esteemed Mr. Mark Huxley, the Master himself, presided over the ceremony.

The atmosphere was heavy with tradition as we took our solemn oath to champion the noble aims of the Company, surrounded by peers and the luminaries of the city. It felt rather like stepping into history, clad in our traditional lounge suits, ready to make a pledge that would bond us to a legacy of integrity, leadership, and community in the entrepreneurial sphere.
The evening began in earnest, with Duncan and his team orchestrating the proceedings like a well-tuned symphony. From the ceremonial intricacies to the Appreciation Supper that followed, everything was seamless. Standing before Master Huxley and pledging our oath to the Company’s objectives was a highlight—truly a moment of commitment to the values that underpin our entrepreneurial spirit.
The Appreciation Supper itself was a lively affair, steeped in the unique dining traditions of the City of London. It was a perfect prelude to the more formal Election Court Banquet and Installation Dinner slated for later in the year. The presence of Alderman Zaman lent an extra layer of gravitas to the evening, underscoring its importance.
I am immensely thankful for the chance to join such a distinguished community and am eager to contribute to its enduring legacy. Last night was more than just formalities; it was about embracing a tradition that stands for more than just business—it’s about forging leadership and community. What a privilege to be part of it all!
