Bisley, Surrey – 7th June 2024
The annual Inter Livery Rifle Shoot, held at the historic Bisley ranges, was an incredible gathering of 16 teams from various Livery Companies, all united for a day of competitive shooting and fellowship. One of the standout moments was Rakhitha’s impressive top score on the Bell Ringing stand, setting a high standard for the Company of Entrepreneurs right from the start.
Highlights of the Day
• Bell Ringing Stand: Rakhitha’s exceptional performance on the Bell Ringing stand earned him the best score of the event, a feat that remained unmatched throughout the day. This was a fantastic kick-off for us.
• 1,000 Yard Rifle Shoot: Josh showcased his remarkable composure and skill in the 1,000-yard competition, achieving an impressive score. His calm approach was almost meditative!
• Moving Target Stand: Drawing on my experience in pheasant and game shooting, I navigated the moving target stand with relative ease. My performance on the other stands was decent, though I jokingly blame the metal in my shoulder and the wind for any shortcomings!

Event Organisation and Atmosphere
The day was brilliantly organised by the Bakers’ Company and the RAF Target Rifle Club. We enjoyed a well-planned schedule, including breakfast, lunch, tea, and an evening at the free bar. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, fostering camaraderie and inclusivity. Kudos to the organisers for their efforts in making the day memorable for everyone involved.
Overall Performance and Reflection
While our team didn’t take home the top prize, we performed respectably well. More importantly, the event was about enjoying the sport, sharing experiences, and supporting RAF charities, including those for disadvantaged Air Cadets.
The Inter Livery Rifle Shoot at Bisley was a day filled with precision, sportsmanship, and community spirit. It was a privilege to represent the Company of Entrepreneurs and engage with fellow liverymen in such a prestigious setting. The event not only highlighted our shooting skills but also strengthened the bonds within our community, making it a day to remember.
